Three Saudi supertankers were among the vessels exiting the Strait of Hormuz following the signing of an interim peace deal between the U.S. and Iran on Wednesday.

The three Saudi vessels carried about six million barrels of Saudi oil, and they are the first Saudi-owned ships to transit the strait since the conflict began in late February, Bloomberg reported

The ships’ transponder signals began broadcasting on Thursday, after being stuck in the Persian Gulf since February. The transponders transmit information about the ship’s identity and location.

A supertanker carrying oil from the United Arab Emirates, a ship carrying Qatari liquefied natural gas, and a Chinese fuel tanker were also among the traffic moving through the strait with their transponders broadcasting.

Visible traffic remains light compared with prewar levels and some trade groups want clarification on mines and other issues. But there are signs that traffic is ramping up.
