Nancy Mace files motion to expel Cory Mills over stolen valor and sexual misconduct allegations

South Carolina GOP Rep. Nancy Mace filed a motion Monday evening to expel Florida GOP Rep. Cory Mills from the House over a series of allegations that include stolen valor and sexual misconduct.
Mace did not file the resolution as “privileged” but could force a vote on the resolution in the future, according to Fox News. The motion comes as Mills is reportedly preparing a similar resolution against Mace, NOTUS reported.
The South Carolinian’s resolution accuses Mills of misrepresenting his military service, sexual misconduct, campaign finance violations and illicit involvement in federal contracts as a member of Congress, among others.
“The swamp has protected Cory Mills for far too long and we are done letting it slide. We tried to censure him and strip him from his committee assignments. Both parties blocked it, but we are not backing down,” Mace said on X. “Any Member who votes to keep him here is voting to protect a woman beater and a fraud.”
Mills has denied the allegations and has not been criminally charged with any wrongdoing.
“Nancy wants you to believe she’s fighting for you, but she’s not,” Mills said in a post on X. “One minute she’s MAGA, the next she isn’t. Nancy Mace is a hypocrite who abuses her power and is an opportunist.”
The push to remove Mills from the House comes after former California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell and former Texas GOP Rep. Tony Gonzales resigned over sexual misconduct allegations before they could potentially be booted from the chamber.
Florida Democratic Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick could face an expulsion vote as early as Tuesday.
