There is trouble in the Obama household, and the former Divider-In-Chief thinks he knows precisely who is to blame for it.

The former president told the far-left New Yorker that Michelle has begged him to step out of the spotlight so they can live their golden years together in peace. But he can’t quit Trump.

Obama claims that Trump’s return to the White House demands that he stay on the front lines and fight.

He pointed to policies implemented by the Trump Administration, ranging from withdrawing the United States from the Paris climate accords to gutting Obamacare.

But his top project over the past several months has been supporting Democrat efforts to steal more Republican House seats. For example, his mug was all over Virginia airwaves, lying to the residents about why they needed to support Democrats violating the state constitution and back the most gerrymandered map in the country.

Obama was also heavily involved in helping California Governor Gavin Newsom convince voters to back a 48-4 Democratic map that wiped out five GOP congressional seats.

All this political activity has come at a cost to his marriage, and he admits it strains Michelle.

“It does create genuine tension in our household, and it frustrates her,” Obama said to The New Yorker. “I’m more forgiving of it; I understand why people feel that way.”

Obama went on to defend himself from more hardcore left-wing critics who still claim he’s not doing enough to counter Trump.

“No other ex-president was the main surrogate for the party for four election cycles after they left office,’ he said.

Obama, though, still appreciates the ‘concern’ that these critics have.

“The fact that people want me to be doing more is a good sign,” he claimed.

Some would argue, however, that the problems were already apparent before Barack Obama ramped up his political activity.

Recall that Michelle Obama stunned America by refusing to attend former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral last year.

The country was then treated to Obama and Trump sitting together, looking awfully chummy.

Something else is in the water regarding the Obama marriage.
