A stunning video has captured the moment a crazed woman in Washington state apparently tries to run over a little boy on the sidewalk while he was riding his bicycle, and her explanation afterward makes no sense.

As the Spokesman-Review reported, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office released a video on Monday showing a female in a silver Ford Focus chasing after a child riding a dirt bike down a residential sidewalk in Cheney last month. The incident occurred in the 7500 block of South Fruitvale Road.

The video starts with the woman, standing in the middle of the road, honking her horn at the child, who is seen in her driveway. She swerves in and narrowly misses the juvenile, who moves out of the way just in time.

“This lady is crazy,” a neighbor can be heard saying.

The kid stops and turns back toward the car. The woman and he then exchange words for a few seconds.

To the neighbors’ horror, the woman then turns her vehicle around and chases after the kid ON THE SIDEWALK.

The car barely avoids a fire hydrant and bushes as it slams along the sidewalk in front of the homes while going after the youth. Then it finally veers back onto the road.

The neighbor screams, “Oh, my God!” as the incident unfolds.

The Spokesman-Review reported that when deputies arrived in the area, they were informed of a burglary about a mile away.

The caller, who was not home at the time, said he saw a person on live security camera footage trying to open doors.

When the police arrived, they found the driver, 56-year-old Wendy Clemente, and the car. They placed her under arrest for allegedly trying to run over the child in her vehicle while under the influence.

She also attempted to kick a patrol deputy.

Clemente later offered an incredibly crazy excuse for her actions. She claimed that she “took her dogs for a ride” and was “looking for other dogs to socialize with” at the time of the incident.

Clemente also bizarrely claimed she had no idea about the kid on the bike or her chasing after him. She did admit to drinking alcohol before the incident, however.

The Spokesman-Review notes that Clemente was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of first-degree attempted assault, DUI, and criminal trespass.

She was later released on her own recognizance.
