Democrat House Leader Hakeem Jeffries was extremely dismissive when directly confronted about Rep. Ilhan Omar’s reported net worth bizarrely plummeting from $30 million to under $100,000 in a matter of days, followed by the sudden dissolution of a mysterious “ghost winery.”

When asked about the scandal point-blank by a Lindell TV reporter, Jeffries immediately waved it off as a “right-wing conspiracy theory.”

The reporter asked whether Omar’s financial implosion and the closure of her reported winery warranted a House Ethics investigation.

“Leader Jeffries – Omar’s net worth went from $30 MILLION to under $100K. She’s dissolving a fake winery. Does this warrant a House Ethics investigation?”

Jeffries responded by claiming that the scandal was “not brought to my attention.”

“But we do know that Ilhan Omar, who works hard on behalf of the people that she represents in Minnesota, is constantly under attack by right-wing conspiracy theorists,” Jeffries added.

The same reporter was called “stupid” by Omar herself when she confronted her about the scandal.

“I said I absolutely think you’re stupid for asking me anything,” Omar said.

When asked what the American people deserve to know, Omar told her, “I don’t have to tell you jack sh-t!”

Omar’s 2024 financial disclosure forms initially listed family assets valued between $6 million and $30 million, a massive leap from prior years.

The bulk of that wealth was tied to eStCru LLC, a Santa Rosa, California winery co-owned by Omar’s husband, Tim Mynett. The company had almost no visible public operations, no listed phone number, and little online footprint.

Days after Republican lawmakers and media outlets began asking questions, Omar’s team amended the disclosures, claiming a simple “accounting error” by her accountant had failed to properly account for liabilities.

The revised filing slashed her reported net worth to roughly $90,000–$100,000.

Almost immediately afterward, the winery LLC was quietly dissolved.

The timing has raised serious questions about possible asset concealment, fraud, or attempts to obscure wealth, especially given Omar’s well-documented connections to Minnesota’s massive Feeding Our Future fraud scandal, which stole over $250 million in federal COVID meal funds.

Republican House Majority Whip Tom Emmer issued a strong statement blasting the revision, saying, “Ilhan Omar’s multimillion-dollar financial disclosure revision is just the latest on a long list of her questionable actions.”

Emmer said that the shocking changes are “incompetence at best and a cover-up at worst.”

“Ilhan cannot escape accountability much longer. Investigations are ongoing in House committees,” he added, according to a report from Newsweek.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the Minnesota House Fraud Prevention and State Oversight Committee is working on its own investigation into Omar’s ties to the Feeding Our Future scandal, with Chair Rep. Kristin Robbins demanding documents from her by May 5.
