(VIDEO) Rep. Michael McCaul Whines to ABC Over Hegseth Slamming European Globalists for Mass Migration in D-Day Remarks: “Out of Place… Inappropriate”

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) ran to left-wing media on Sunday morning to condemn War Secretary Pete Hegseth’s D-Day remarks in France, calling them “out of place” and “inappropriate.”
While delivering remarks at the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, France, on Saturday, Hegseth delivered a scathing rebuke of Europe’s mass-migration policies, straight to the faces of its leaders, The Gateway Pundit reported. Hegseth implied that mass migration is doing a disservice to veterans who died for the sovereignty of these nations.
While speaking to ABC’s This Week host Martha Raddatz, McCaul accused Hegseth of missing the mark, saying, “There’s a time and a place for these issues of immigration. That was not the day.”
“I think out of respect to the veterans, myself being the son of a D-Day veteran,” he said, adding, “those remarks were out of place.”
It should be noted that Hegseth is also a veteran who completed three active-duty deployments in Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, and Afghanistan and received two Bronze Star medals.

Raddatz: You heard us run that sound bite from Pete Hegseth in Normandy. What did you think of those comments?
McCaul: Well, as the son of a D-Day veteran, look, there’s a time and a place for these issues of immigration. That was not the day, not the anniversary of D-Day. I think out of respect to the veterans, myself being the son of a D-Day veteran, those remarks were out of place.
I think it should have been about their sacrifice, their service to their country, and what they did to protect the free world at a time of great peril against Nazi Germany. That should have been the message. It always has been in the past, and quite frankly, I thought it was just inappropriate,
However, Hegseth did, in fact, honor the sacrifice of D-Day veterans throughout his roughly 13-minute speech, describing the mission as “impossible,” “suicidal,” and “the mission of free men, freedom’s only hope.”
“Alongside the brave forces of Great Britain, Canada, France, Norway, Poland, and our other capable and steadfast allies, the United States military spearheaded a great crusade to shatter the Nazi war machine and liberate a continent,” he noted, recognizing the heroes of yesterday as a “living embodiment of the warrior ethos we today revive at the Department of War.”
“To the veterans here today who served in France and around the globe, gentlemen, we love you. We owe you a debt of gratitude we can never repay. A grateful nation honors your service and your historic bravery,” Hegseth said during his ten-minute-long tribute to D-Day veterans.
It was only this roughly two-minute-long soundbite, where he noted that European leaders are squandering the sacrifices of their veterans by allowing the West to be invaded and their cultures stolen by third-worlders.
“Sadly, today, different European beaches are stormed by different dangerous ideologies. Beaches in Spain, in Italy, in Greece, and in Bulgaria, boats and men arrive. When will European capitals do something about that invasion, or is it too late?” he asked.
