A Minnesota teen was found dead after he posted a selfie on social media of himself with a giant bag of cash. He made the post on Instagram outside his suburban home.

17-year-old Tyson Michael Goodsell was found with a gunshot wound after a vehicle he was in crashed into a townhouse. Officers arrived in the neighborhood around 11 pm after reports of gunshots in the area. Moments later, they were notified of a white sedan crashing into a house about five minutes from Goodsell’s home.

The teen was found by law enforcement in the vehicle with a gunshot wound and was taken to a nearby Mayo Clinic hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The image he posted on Instagram showed him sitting on an exterior staircase, looking at a watch on his wrist, with a black duffel bag filled with cash next to him. Police have not confirmed if the post was a contributing factor in Goodsell’s death.

According to KSTP, police were still searching for a silver Chevrolet Impala on Tuesday morning that may have been traveling through the area when the shooting took place.

“Investigators continue to actively pursue leads and process evidence as they work toward bringing the case to a successful resolution,” said Police Chief Ross Gullickson in a statement. “Officers and investigators from multiple agencies and specialized fields are assisting with the investigation.”

A GoFundMe was created by Goodsell’s family in the aftermath of his death. The description, written by his father Zach, said that Goodsell “worked a job, played basketball, and hit the gym at the YMCA on routine.”

“He was my firstborn and now my youngest has to go through what i did when i lost my brother. My heart is shattered just by talking to his friends u can tell he had such a bright spirit! He’s loved and missed by so many,” his father wrote.
