U.S. negotiators are heading to Pakistan on Saturday but a top Iranian official said there isn’t a direct meeting between the U.S. and Iran scheduled to take place.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is currently in Pakistan, according to reports.

“No meeting is planned to take place between Iran and the US,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Bagahei said in a post on X early Saturday morning.

“Iran’s observations would be conveyed to Pakistan,” added Baghaei.

The White House has said that U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are leaving for Pakistan on Saturday, while Vice-President JD Vance is on standby.

On Friday, Trump said Iran was “making an offer and we’ll have to see.” He was not aware of the details at the time.
