Merz keeps making geopolitical waves.

Highly unpopular German Chancellor Friedrich Merz does what other Euro-Globalists do: spends as much time and energy as he can meddling in other countries’ businesses and telling these nations what to do.

The rationale seems to be that the less he deals with his own troubled country with a floundering economy, the better.

Just yesterday, Merz uttered the outrageous view that Iran is ‘humiliating the US’, but that was not all.

The Chancellor also said that Ukraine will have to cede parts of its territory in a future peace deal with Russia, and – what’s more – appeared to link such concessions to Kiev’s prospects for joining the European Union.

Reuters reported:

“’At some point, Ukraine will sign a ceasefire agreement; at some point, hopefully, a peace treaty with Russia. Then it may be that part of Ukraine’s territory is no longer Ukrainian’, Merz told students at the Carolus-Magnus-Gymnasium in Marsberg, a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, on Monday.

‘If President (Volodymyr) Zelenskiy wants to communicate this to his own population and gain a majority for it, and he needs to hold a referendum on it, then he must at the same time tell the people: ‘I have opened the way to Europe for you’,” Merz added.”

But Merz again cautioned against raising hopes for rapid EU accession, as he has done just a few days ago.

He warned that Ukraine cannot join the European Union while at war, and must also meet strict criteria regarding the ‘rule of law’ and on ‘fighting corruption’.

“’Zelensky had the idea of joining the EU on January 1, 2027. That will not work. Even January 1, 2028 is not realistic’, Merz said.”
