While Starmer’s position seems secure at the moment, the scandals keep hiting him non-stop

Peter Mandelson was appointed UK ambassador to the US by Starmer despite having failed the vetting process.

Failing British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is lashing out at the Foreign Office for ‘misleading’ him over the vetting of former ambassador to the US, Labour peer Lord Peter Mandelson – a man with deep and shady ties to late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

As we have reported here in TGP, it arose yesterday that Britain’s specialist vetting office advised against giving Mandelson ‘developed vetting’ status, but was overruled by Sir Olly Robbins, the Foreign Office’s top civil servant.

The Telegraph reported:

“On Friday, the Prime Minister said the ‘unforgivable’ behavior of civil servants had led him to claim that ‘due process’ had been followed over Lord Mandelson’s appointment as Britain’s ambassador to the US, when officials had in fact overruled red flags during the Labour peer’s vetting.”

There’s no denying that Starmer misled Parliament about the Mandelson vetting fiasco – he is only insisting that he did not willingly lie – ‘incompetent, but not a liar’, seems to be his line of defense.

“Downing Street accused the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of withholding information about Lord Mandelson, despite ‘repeated’ attempts by No 10 to establish the facts after Sir Keir dismissed the peer from his role last year.”

Starmer will address the Commons on Monday (20) on the Mandelson scandal, and Sir Olly Robbins will appear on Tuesday (21).

Fired, Robins will receive a ‘golden parachute’ of hundreds of thousands of Pounds.

The row will further damage the party’s chances at next month’s local elections.

“One minister told The Telegraph the ‘s—tshow’ meant it was ‘all over’ for the Prime Minister, adding: ‘It’s an inevitable death, but a very slow one’.”

While Starmer’s position as PM seems secure right now, he is politically wounded, and the upcoming defeats at the local elections may finally do him in.
