Disgraced Federal Judge in Georgia Recuses Herself From DOJ’s Voter Roll Lawsuit

A federal judge presiding over an election integrity lawsuit in Georgia has recused herself over “perceived support of [District Attorney Fani] Willis’s position on election integrity” and the doubt created regarding the judge’s impartiality.
In her order, District Court Judge Eleanor Ross recused herself “based on a finding in a report…that an unnamed judge, since identified as the undersigned, attended a ‘partisan political event…hosted by a District Attorney’s campaign.’”
The report concluded that the “private mixer” was “part of a larger function that was undoubtedly partisan political in nature,” despite the judge attending solely for the purpose of “reuniting with former colleagues.” However, given the prosecution of President Donald Trump, led by D.A. Willis, Ross’s attendance “creates an appearance of bias in this proceeding.”
The DOJ’s lawsuit has since been reassigned to U.S. District Judge Victoria Calvert, according to reporting from Politico.
The case is one of numerous cases being brought by the U.S. Department of Justice seeking access to voter rolls in at least 30 states to conduct a federal audit of voter eligibility.
Thus far, eight cases have been dismissed, but each has been appealed to their respective Appellate Courts. Those states include Arizona, Oregon, and California in the Ninth Circuit, Maine, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts in the First Circuit, Michigan in the Sixth Circuit, and Wisconsin in the Seventh Circuit.
The states where the case remains open at the District Court level are Colorado, Connecticut, D.C., Delaware, Georgia (in both the Middle and Northern Districts), Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia.
The Gateway Pundit has previously reported that Judge Ross is under scrutiny over a sexual relationship with a police commander in her chambers during business hours and within “earshot” of her law clerks. Judge Ross is married to a DeKalb County judge and former prosecutor, which could potentially create an opportunity for compromise.
As a result, earlier this month, Representative Clay Fuller introduced articles of impeachment against Judge Ross.
I am dropping an article of impeachment against Eleanor L. Ross, a Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. I have been working on this alongside @repjimjordan since the news broke and will be introducing this on Monday.
