Those who are alleged to have committed fraud in Minnesota by taking government money to run day care centers without ever providing services may soon face justice. Twenty-two search warrants were executed in Minnesota on Tuesday morning.

The DOJ confirmed to The Post Millennial and Human Events that 22 federal search warrants were executed this morning in Minnesota, which were not immigration enforcement but for fraud.  The Quality Learing Center, made famous by Nick Shirley, was among those where warrants were served.

A DOJ spokesperson said: “Today the FBI with federal, state and local law enforcement is involved in court-authorized law enforcement activity as part of an ongoing fraud investigation.”

Concerns about fraud in Minnesota, specifically among the Somali community, have been growing for years. One scheme, Feeding Our Future, that has seen multiple prosecutions and convictions, involved those in the Somali community taking government grants to feed poor children during Covid. The meals were not provided and the money was used to fund the lifestyles of the grantees.

Day care and health care service providers are also vectors of concern. Reporter Nick Shirley attempted to go to day care centers and health care locations, only to find that no such services were in existence at those locations. It was later revealed that much of the oversight that should have been done by authorities was not done, in part because they worried about being called racist for investigating within the Somali community.

Minnesota leadership, including Governor Tim Walz, Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan, Somali immigrant Rep. Ilhan Omar, and AG Keith Ellison have sought to defend the immigrant community.

Minneapolis and the surrounding areas have a large Somali immigrant population, which has made inroads in local and national politics. The new Minnesota flag resembles the flag of Somalia and a recent bill being pushed by Democrats would penalize and fine towns and cities that continue to fly the state’s old flag.
