Bad Bunny cast as ‘Pizza with Sunglasses’ in ‘Toy Story 5’

Bad Bunny will voice a new character for Disney Pixar’s Toy Story 5, the studio announced on Tuesday. The Grammy-winning singer from Puerto Rico, widely known for his distaste for President Donald Trump, will voice a new character known as “Pizza with Sunglasses,” described by the studio as “effortlessly cool and mysterious.”
The animated character is a member of “a small but mighty community of forgotten toys that live in an abandoned backyard shed,” according to a press release. Bad Bunny joins the cast of the original series, including Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear) and Woody the Cowboy (Tom Hanks). The final trailer for Toy Story 5 marks the reunion of Woody and Buzz after a six-year absence.
The film revolves around a new antagonist: technology. The toys will navigate their duties in an era dominated by screens, particularly those powered by artificial intelligence (AI). Bonnie, the young child seen in Toy Story 3, plays a significant role in the film. She is now 8 years old and has developed a connection to an AI-powered tablet, which has resulted in a disinterest in traditional toys, Gold Derby reported.
Bad Bunny made nationwide headlines in February when he was selected to perform at the annual 2026 Super Bowl in San Francisco. The singer was lambasted by the NFL’s conservative audience for his hatred of President Trump’s immigration policies, where he has denounced the Trump administration’s mass deportation operations. As a result, an alternative Super Bowl halftime show featuring pro-American artists was produced by Turning Point USA, the conservative student-led organization founded by Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September 2025.
Toy Story 5 is set to hit theaters on June 19.
