VICTORY FOR ELECTION INTEGRITY: Virginia Supreme Court Strikes Down Democrat Gerrymandering Referendum as Unconstitutional

In a massive win for the rule of law and election integrity, the Virginia Supreme Court has overturned the Democrat Party’s rigged gerrymandering referendum, ruling the entire sleazy process to sneak it onto the ballot was unconstitutional from the start.
This is the latest devastating blow to radical Democrats’ blatant attempt to rewrite Virginia’s congressional maps mid-decade and hand themselves a super-majority in the U.S. House by turning the state from a competitive 6-5 split into a laughably unfair 10 Democrats to 1 Republican slaughter.
As The Gateway Pundit reported back in April, a lower court in Tazewell County had already slammed the brakes on this Democrat power grab, striking down the so-called “redistricting amendment” and blocking certification of the narrow “yes” vote from the April 21 special election.
Democrats immediately cried foul and rushed to the Supreme Court, begging for a stay so they could ram through their stolen maps. The high court wasn’t buying it then, and now they’ve delivered the final knockout.
What it actually did was authorize a shameless mid-decade redraw designed to wipe out Republican strongholds and create a permanent Democrat stranglehold on Virginia’s delegation ahead of the 2026 midterms.
Legal experts, including former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, had warned from the beginning that the process violated multiple provisions of the Virginia Constitution, including improper timing and notice requirements, as well as the misleading way Democrats framed the question to trick voters. The Supreme Court clearly agreed, ruling the whole thing invalid.
On Friday, the high court ruled that the entire process Democrats used to ram the ballot measure through was unconstitutional, violating the plain language of Virginia’s Constitution and tainting the narrow “yes” vote from last month’s special election.
The decision voids the results entirely and keeps the state’s current congressional maps in place, preserving the competitive 6-5 Democratic edge rather than handing the radical left a rigged 10-1 supermajority.

More from NBC News:
The Virginia Supreme Court on Friday blocked a new Democratic-drawn congressional map from taking effect, delivering a major boost for Republicans as they defend their narrow House majority in the midterm elections.
Weeks after Virginia narrowly approved the plan in a statewide vote, the court ruled that Democratic lawmakers did not meet the procedural requirements to place a constitutional amendment on the ballot, which was written to pave the way for the redrawn district lines. Democrats were seeking a map designed to give the party up to four new House seats.
This ruling — coupled with Republican redistricting efforts in other states in the last year and the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling overturning racial gerrymandering regulations in the Voting Rights Act — means that Republicans will head into the midterms with a clear redistricting advantage.
Republicans could gain as many as 14 seats from redrawn maps across six states so far, compared to six for Democrats from redrawn maps. But there could be significant variation based on the actual election results in those new districts, which are not necessarily easy wins for the party that drew them.
Democrats need a net gain of at least three House seats in November to flip the House majority.
In Virginia, the state Supreme Court concluded that the state Legislature began their constitutional amendment process too late to be lawful.
