President Trump on Thursday announced that Israel and Lebanon agreed to extend their ceasefire agreement by three weeks.

Trump, Vance, Rubio, Mike Huckabee, Michael Issa met with representatives from Lebanon and Israel in the Oval Office on Thursday.

The ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel will be extended by three weeks, according to the president.

Full statement from President Trump:

The President of the United States, DONALD J. TRUMP, Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, and Ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Issa, met today with High Ranking Representatives of Israel and Lebanon in the Oval Office.

The Meeting went very well! The United States is going to work with Lebanon in order to help it protect itself from Hezbollah.

The Ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will be extended by THREE WEEKS.

I look forward in the near future to hosting the Prime Minister of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu, and the President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun. It was a Great Honor to be a participant at this very Historic Meeting! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Last week Trump announced that Lebanon and Israel agreed to a 10-day ceasefire and another round of talks.

Earlier this month President Trump announced a double-sided ceasefire and agreed to suspend his planned military strikes on Iran after speaking with the Pakistani Prime Minister.

“Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE!” Trump said on Truth Social.

“The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East,” Trump said.

“We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated,” the president said.

“On behalf of the United States of America, as President, and also representing the Countries of the Middle East, it is an Honor to have this Longterm problem close to resolution. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP” Trump added.

Iran accepted the ceasefire but Israel continued to bomb Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

Last week, Bibi Netanyahu said that Lebanon was not a part of the double-sided ceasefire.

On Thursday, Israel and Lebanon agreed to a ceasefire extension after meeting for the first time in 34 years.
