The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office has filed only misdemeanor charges against three individuals captured on video launching a brutal mob assault against TPUSA reporter Savanah Hernandez during an anti-ICE protest in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Hernandez was swarmed and taunted on Saturday before being forcibly shoved to the ground, allegedly resulting in a concussion, bruising, and various sprains. The reporter also endured several punches as she struggled to escape the violent mob outside the Whipple Federal Building, which houses an ICE office.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office said that three individuals have since been charged with misdemeanor assault, despite the severity of the attack. This includes defendants Chris Ostroushko, 51, and Paige Ostroushko, 20, who are father and daughter. Chris, a 250-pound man and convicted criminal, physically punched and shoved Hernandez to the ground, while Paige made physical contact with Hernandez after intimidating, harassing, and invading the reporter’s personal space, video shows.

Charges have not yet been filed against the mother, DeYanna Ostroushko, who was also allegedly involved, as evidenced in the video. The third charged individual is Paige’s unnamed boyfriend.

Several other individuals who were observed on video physically striking Hernandez with sex toys have not yet been charged. The investigation remains ongoing.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office told independent journalist Breanna Morello in a statement: “Our investigators are among the best in the state and are committed to a comprehensive, victim-centered approach. They work closely with the victim, review all available evidence—including videos—and interview witnesses to ensure every detail is examined.”

Hernandez stated on Wednesday that the sheriff’s office has not followed up since the attack occurred. She had to contact the investigator assigned to the case for updates, and said she is suffering from injuries sustained in the attack, feeling sore, dizzy, and light-headed.

The assault is also being probed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Trump administration officials, including Vice President JD Vance, have also commented on the attack, publicly condemning it.
