Pizza Hut RETURNS to classic retro restaurant style as ‘classic’ locations open up across US

Pizza Hut franchises across the nation are converting to “Pizza Hut Classic” locations, as the chain has vowed to bring back the nostalgia of the restaurant’s classic look in 2026. 80 locations are set to be turned into “Classic” styled franchises this year.
Tim Sparks, the President of the Daland Corporation, a major franchisee of Pizza Hut, has said that they will be converting 80 locations to the retro design, per Wide Open County. Sparks’ first job was as a dishwasher at a Pizza Hut, and he has wanted to revive the old retro look that they once had.
Pizza Hut Classic locations are required to have the classic gabled roof, so the locations likely are not able to just rent out modern architectural space and must have a custom build. The interiors are also true to the classic style of the restaurant, namely, having red cups, stained glass lights, a jukebox, as well as the salad bar.
“People come from two, three hours away. And I’m not making that up!” Sparks said about his classic locations.
Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec has referred to the phenomenon as “Pizza Hut Nationalism.” In a post he made over the weekend on the topic, Posobiec said, “4 years ago this month, Pizza Hut Nationalism was born. And now, it is coming to fruition as foretold. The Golden Age shall commence.”
One customer at the classic location said, “When you finally find something that tastes how you genuinely remember it tasting, like, you can’t let it go.”
