Minnesota couple arrested for child sex crimes against 14-year-old girl seen running half-naked outside their home later found in cardboard box

A couple in Oakdale, Minnesota has been arrested for child sex crimes involving a 14-year-old girl who was found by police in a cardboard box in the couple’s home.
Andrew Olson, 48, and Angeline Olson, 46, are each facing child sex crime charges after Maplewood Police were notified that a 14-year-old girl had left school without permission and that her father had reported her missing. The father told authorities that the girl may be at a friend’s house on May 26.
After being notified of the friend’s house, officers went to the apartment on 6000 block of 52nd Street North and spoke to Angeline Olson, who is the mother of the missing girl’s friend, per Fox 9. The mother told police she had not seen the girl but would contact them if she did.
Officers left but then returned around 1:45 am on May 27 after a witness saw a juvenile in a black swimsuit with two adults outside the apartment. The witness said that the man and woman were with her and “appearing to be cooking something.”
“I came outside to smoke and I’m minding my own business and all of a sudden this little girl comes running past out her house, right in front of me half naked. Like nothing a 13-, 14-year-old girl should be wearing,” said neighbor Teaira, who called police. “Next thing you know [Angeline is] out the bushes and [Angeline] comes out naked, like her whole top half is out, and I’m like, whoa, what’s going on here? Why are you naked in front of a child?”
“Officers ultimately located [the girl] in a cardboard box in the Olsons’ bedroom under a pile of clothes,” the complaint stated. The Olsons had argued with the police, telling them that the girl was not there. Search warrants were issued for their home, which led to the discovery of explicit videos of them and the teen on Andrew Olson’s phone, the complaint said.
If convicted, Angelina faces up to 30 years in prison for charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and soliciting a child to engage in sexual conduct. Andrew Olson is facing up to 18 years for three counts of possessing child sexual abuse material as well as one count of soliciting a child to engage in sexual conduct.
The Olsons are in custody at Washington County Jail pending trial.
“They need to be locked up. I hope that they are locked up for a very very long time,” said Teaira per CBS News. “I hope that that little girl is OK.”
