A 44-year-old migrant Lyft driver has been convicted of kidnapping and raping a female passenger after picking her up as a driver, but instead of bringing her to her destination, taking her to a remote area to attack her.
Zkaria Mahmmd Al Majzoub was found guilty last week of three felony charges: first-degree kidnapping, rape, and forcible penetration by use of a foreign object.
Media: “Boise-area Lyft Driver found guilty of rape and kidnapping.”

The verdict came after a jury trial in Ada County.
According to prosecutors, the assault occurred on August 6, 2024.
Al Majzoub picked up the female victim through the Lyft app and drove her to a remote location where he sexually assaulted her.
The victim had texted friends earlier that she was heading home in a Lyft.
When she did not arrive as expected, concerned friends used a location-sharing app and saw that she was in an unfamiliar area.
They quickly contacted law enforcement, which allowed officers to locate and arrest Al Majzoub.
The Ada County Prosecutor’s Office praised the quick actions of the victim’s friends, stating that their response “allowed them to promptly report the situation to law enforcement, enabling officers to locate the defendant without delay.”
Al Majzoub has remained in custody at the Ada County Jail since his arrest on a $1 million bond. He is scheduled to be sentenced on September 9. He faces the possibility of life in prison.
His specific immigration status, whether he entered illegally or was in the country on a visa, is unclear.
