Far-left streamer Hasan Piker addressed the federal investigation into his travel to Cuba during a recent livestream on Sunday, acknowledging the seriousness of the situation but downplaying some of the allegations against him.

“I’m not gonna lie to you guys. It’s not great. The news is not great, OK? I mean, it’s bullsh*t, but still not great that they’re after your boy. They’re up my ass,” Piker told viewers, responding to reports that he has been subpoenaed by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

Piker, a prominent leftist commentator on Twitch and YouTube, is under scrutiny, part of a wider federal inquiry into Americans who traveled to Cuba in March as part of the “Nuestra América Convoy.” The investigation is examining whether participants violated US sanctions laws by financing, coordinating, or providing goods to entities linked to the Cuban government.

The federal inquiry, per Fox News Digital, is “into whether activists who traveled to Cuba in March violated US sanctions laws through the financing, coordination or delivery of goods to Cuba, including potential contacts with Cuban government personnel or entities on the island.” Former Cuban president Raul Castro was indicted by the United States last week on charges of shooting down American humanitarian planes that were looking for Cuban migrants in need of aid at sea.

When the audience began chanting “free me” during the stream, he responded: “Free me, free me. I can’t believe I’m saying that.”

Federal officials are reportedly reviewing financial records, travel arrangements, and communications tied to the March trip, which included activists and influencers who visited Havana and took part in events involving Cuban officials and organizations.

For now, no charges have been announced, and the subpoenas are understood to be administrative requests for information rather than criminal indictments.
