Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said Friday, on her final day on the job, said she is releasing “never-before-seen” communications and documents “exposing” how Dr. Anthony Fauci provided millions in U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund dangerous gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab in China.

Fauci was the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases during the COVID pandemic. Former members of the U.S. intelligence community and others have said the virus potentially leaked from the lab. 

China has said it jumped from animal to human at a food market near the lab, which has also conducted so-called gain of function research, which in generally regarded as manipulating a virus to gain insight as to how will function if mutated. 

“I’m releasing how Dr. Fauci worked with politicized elements within the Intelligence Community to suppress the truth about his actions and hide the virus’ lab-leak origins, and lied to Congress while under oath in 2024. It’s time you know the truth,” Gabbard also said in her Friday, in an X post.
