Donald Trump Jr. praises Georgia gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson, stops short of endorsement

Donald Trump Jr. praised Georgia gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson in a Monday social media post but said it was not an endorsement.
Jackson is locked in a tight race with Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, who received President Donald Trump’s endorsement last year before Jackson entered the race. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp endorsed Jones on Sunday.
“When China threatened our amoxicillin supply, Rick saved the last amoxicillin manufacturing facility in America because he knows we can’t let China control our entire supply of antibiotics,” Trump Jr. said in the post. “When the U.S. faced an oil refining shortage and the woke banks wouldn’t finance a new one – Rick stepped up again and became the largest outside investor.”
Trump Jr. called Jackson a “good man.” He said in a comment that he thought Jones was a good guy, too.
“My only point is that no matter who wins tomorrow, it’s a victory for MAGA,” Trump Jr. said.
Kemp campaigned with Jones on Monday while U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, campaigned with Jackson.
A poll from InsiderAdvantage taken Friday and Saturday showed Jackson with 49% of the vote, Jones with 46%, and 5% still undecided. On Monday, pollster Matt Towery of InsiderAdvantage released a new poll showing Jackson at 48% and Jones at 48% with +/- 3% margin of error.
Georgia’s other big race is just as close. U.S. Rep. Mike Collins and Derek Dooley, the former head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers and son of legendary University of Georgia football coach Vince Dooley, are vying for the opportunity to challenge Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff in November.
Collins polled at 50%, Dooley at 48%, with 2% undecided.
Kemp endorsed Dooley. Trump endorsed Collins.
Polls open Tuesday at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
