Another day, another crisis befalls failing British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

They wanted him gone for having appointed Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘pal’ Peter Mandelson as ambassador to the United States.

Then, they wanted him gone for covering up how the vetting process of Mandelson was badly bungled.

Finally, the want him gone after the Labour party was massacred in last week’s local elections.

Labour MPs rebelled, then ministers resigned, and now, his Health Secretary joins the mutiny, resigns and is expected to challenge Starmer.

The Telegraph reported:

“In his resignation letter, Mr. Streeting criticized the ‘drift’ at the top of Government and told the Prime Minister it was ‘clear’ he would not lead Labour into the next election.

He launched a scathing attack on Sir Keir’s leadership, criticizing him for cutting the winter fuel allowance, describing Britain as an ‘island of strangers’ in a controversial migration speech and sacking staff rather than taking responsibility for his own mistakes.”

Streeting called for the ‘best possible field of candidates’ to stand and replace Sir Keir in Downing Street.

“He said: ‘It is now clear that you will not lead the Labour Party into the next general election and that Labour MPs and Labour unions want the debate about what comes next to be a battle of ideas, not of personalities or petty factionalism. It needs to be broad, and it needs to be the best possible field of candidates. I support that approach and I hope you will facilitate it.”

The backroom efforts to unseat Starmer finally broke out into open rebellion today.

Associated Press reported:

“Health Secretary Wes Streeting became the first senior minister to quit Starmer ’s Cabinet on Thursday in what is expected to be a precursor to challenging his leadership.

‘You have shown courage and statesmanship on the world stage — not least in keeping Britain out of the war in Iran,” Streeting wrote in a letter. ‘But where we need vision, we have a vacuum. Where we need direction, we have drift’. It is now clear that you will not lead the Labour Party into the next general election’, he added.”
