Anti-ICE agitator threatens UK reporter at Delaney Hall when confronted with migrant sex crime stats

Ben Leo of GB News found himself at the center of a highly aggressive confrontation with an anti-ICE agitator at the Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark, New Jersey. The British journalist and broadcaster was interacting with protesters outside the holding facility when he was accosted by an agitator who threatened the reporter.
The video released by GB News began with Leo engaging in a conversation with an agitator in a gray t-shirt, discussing the higher rate of sexual violence amongst migrants versus the native-born British population.
The conversation quickly turned volatile as the protester began yelling, “Do something about it, Britt,” as he closed the distance between Leo and himself. The conversation further devolved as Leo asked the protester to stop spitting in his face, to which the protester responded, “I’m holding everything back not to break your f*cking jaw.”
“I came out here for this sh*t,” the protester exclaimed.
“For violence?” Leo asked.
The protester responded, “Yes.”
The videos released by GB News and Leo showed him asking police for assistance as the gray-shirted protester grew increasingly agitated and followed Leo around the street. Police did not immediately intervene and suggested that the two men had been in each other’s faces.
This comes as Delaney Hall has been the subject of increased national scrutiny as protests become more and more violent. A nightly curfew from Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was ordered over the weekend as tensions between protesters and law enforcement have grown. The escalating response from local officials comes after state officials created designated protest areas to help facilitate peace, according to reporting by NBC 4 New York.
This comes as pressure from national lawmakers increases for the GEO Group-owned facility to be closed, with Minority House Leader Hakeem Jeffries posting a video on X on Sunday while standing outside Delaney Hall with members of the New Jersey delegation bearing the caption, “Delaney Hall should be shut down. This is not America.”
Jeffries concluded the video by issuing a warning to the White House.
“Every single member of this Trump administration is going to be held accountable,” he said.
