REVEALED: Hasan Piker admitted that Cuban regime invited him to visit country in 2025

In the wake of the Trump administration subpoenaing left-wing streamer Hasan Piker, as well as CodePink’s Susan Medea Benjamin, for a March trip to Cuba, a clip has resurfaced of Piker saying that the Cuban government reached out to his contact at the embassy regarding whether Piker would come and visit the country.
In the March 31, 2025 episode of the Fear& podcast, which Piker co-hosts, he said, “The Cuban government actually hit my contact from the embassy and told them that if the only thing stopping Hasan from coming to Cuba was the consistent internet access, we can make it happen.” He clarified when asked by one of the co-hosts that the government had not reached out to him directly, but “there’s a middleman there.”
The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control recently subpoenaed Piker after he traveled to Cuba in March under the banner of the “Nuestra America Convoy,” which was intended to bring aid to Cuba amid the US blockade.
The administrative subpoenas for Piker and Benjamin seek financial, logistical, and communications information regarding the trip. Authorities are looking into whether activists who went on the trip violated US sanctions laws through the financing, coordination or delivery of goods to the nation, including possible contacts with Cuban government employees or entities.
In a Saturday stream, Piker responded to the subpoena, telling viewers, “I’m not gonna lie to you guys. It’s not great. The news is not great, OK? I mean, it’s bullsh*t, but still not great that they’re after your boy. They’re up my a**.”
In a separate stream, Piker said Neville Roy Singham, a Marxist activist and founder of Thoughtworks, is “ultimately the target” of the investigation. “I think that ultimately the target is probably Singham,” Piker said, “and his operation, from PSL [Party for Socialism and Liberation] to Answer Coalition to Code Pink, like anything that he has ever financed, and it’s not new, it’s been around for a while, but it’s obviously, it’s held through regardless, because like, it’s ridiculous, right? It’s like totally f*cking ridiculous to try to you know, to try and stop like the political advocacy of an American citizen.”
