Mamdani-backed Lander projected to boot Rep. Dan Goldman: AP

Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., on Tuesday was projected to lose a primary challenge from a progressive challenger backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
The Associated Press called the race for the Mamdani-backed Brad Lander at 9:05 p.m., with 34% of precincts reporting. As of press time, Goldman held 37.8% of the vote to challenger Brad Lander’s 62.0%.
Lander previously served as the New York City comptroller and ran against Mamdani for the mayorship.
Driving much of the challenge to Goldman was a growing intra-party divide on Israel, amid the ongoing Iran war and conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon.
Both Lander and Goldman are Jewish, but Lander decidedly embraced pro-Palestinian rhetoric during the campaign.
