Singer and producer Oliver Tree has died after two helicopters collided over Rio de Janeiro on Sunday morning. He was 32 years old.

The midair collision killed all six people aboard the two aircraft. Tree was among five passengers traveling in one helicopter, while the second aircraft only had the pilot inside. The crash is under investigation by Brazilian authorities.

Tree was one of the six people on the manifests of the two aircraft, though victims could not formally be identified due to the nature of the crash, according to AFP. Among the other passengers were a Brazilian music producer, an Argentine video director, and the Argentine YouTuber Gaspar Prim.

According to Rio de Janeiro fire officials, one of the helicopters crashed into a car dealership after the collision, where electric vehicles were parked, sparking a fire that spread through approximately 20 cars. Firefighters responded to extinguish the blaze.

Tree was in Brazil as part of his world tour and had recently performed in Sao Paulo. His tour includes over 70 shows in 30 countries, and he was scheduled to continue throughout Europe in the coming months, with a performance in Portugal planned for the beginning of July.

Tree, a California musician, is known internationally for his bowl cut hairstyle and hit songs including “Life Goes on,” “Miss You,” and “Alien Boy.” His music has garnered billions of streams across digital platforms, and he has over 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
