Entire British Fleet of Attack Submarines Is Docked and Incapable of Combat, in New Humiliation for Royal Navy

‘Oh, Britannia, Britannia rules the seas’ – not.
We have been reporting here on TGP on how the British armed forces – particularly its once legendary Royal Navy – is depleted and unprepared for war.
Yesterday, a shocking report arose saying that the entire fleet of hunter-killer submarines is ‘stuck in port, unable to sail’ – leaving Britain at risk from today’s threats.
‘Quite frankly, it’s a national disgrace.’

Daily Mail reported:
“In a fresh humiliation for Britain’s Armed Forces, all five of its Astute class submarines are currently laid up awaiting maintenance and other repair work.
Military experts have also warned that the Navy’s lack of available nuclear-powered attack submarines – which carry up to 38 Spearfish torpedoes and a battery of Tomahawk missiles – leaves the UK’s sub-sea internet and power cables dangerously vulnerable to sabotage by [Russia].”
‘We’ve not invested nearly enough in our defence for a very long time.’

The attack submarines also protect the larger Vanguard submarines, which carry the Trident ballistic nuclear missiles that make up the UK’s nuclear deterrent.
“The extraordinary revelations come just a day after the Mail told how one of Britain’s flagship £3.5billion aircraft carriers had broken down again and was forced into port in Norway for repairs.
Lord West, former First Sea Lord and Labour security minister, last night said it was ‘unacceptable’ and ‘very worrying’ that Astute subs are out of action. ‘The attack submarines are fundamental for looking after our ballistic missile submarines,’ he added.”
The Telegraph reported:
“All five of the UK’s Astute-class hunter-killer boats are awaiting maintenance and repairs. A sixth, which was commissioned into the fleet, is not yet ready to deploy.
Naval commanders have said the situation makes the UK look “toothless” in the eyes of Russia, which has ramped up naval activity around British waters by a third in the past year.
Cdr Ryan Ramsey, a former nuclear submarine captain, said the lack of available attack boats was a “serious wake-up call” for Britain.
Urging Sir Keir Starmer and ‘major industry players’ to ‘get a grip’, he told The Telegraph: ‘We look toothless. The Russians know we can’t put submarines to sea. None of this makes sense to me. You lose credibility against the Russians if you can’t maintain that deterrence at sea. This problem has been hidden for decades. Everyone knew this was coming, but it got kicked down to the next person in charge.”
