A socialist Democrat who has ties to a terrorist has won the Democrat primary for New Jersey’s 12th congressional district. The race was called by Decision Desk at 9:25 pm on Tuesday with nearly 70 percent of the vote counted.  

Adam Hamawy, 56, is an Egyptian-born physician as well as former Army trauma surgeon. He was backed by socialist radical Hasan Piker as well as Senator Bernie Sanders in the race. Hamawy is tied to Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, otherwise known as the “Blind Sheikh” who incited the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. 

According to the Jewish Insider, Hamawy’s past relationship with Abdel-Rahman stemmed from a 1991 road trip that they took together to Detroit, where Hamawy was the sheikh’s translator.
