Pedro Pascal kisses Stephen Colbert while promoting new Star Wars movie

Late-night host Stephen Colbert, whose show is entering its final days on air, was seen kissing guest Pedro Pascal in Wednesday night’s show. Pascal, who appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, came on as a guest to promote the latest Star Wars installment, The Mandalorian & Grogu. Shortly after coming on the show and sitting down, Pascal pointed to his lips and the two leaned together for a smooch.
Pascal said, “I got jealous,” to which Colbert replied, “no need, anytime. These lips will soon be free.” Earlier in the same episode, comedian Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Colbert also kissed.
Pascal had been on the show to promote The Mandalorian & Grogu, which is set to premiere in theaters on May 22. Ahead of the film’s premiere, Disney, the parent entity of production company Lucasfilm, has received backlash for Star Wars actor Mark Hamill posting an AI-generated image of Trump lying dead in a grave, with the caption, “if only.”
The kiss on Colbert’s show generated backlash, with cartoonist George Alexopoulos writing, “Huh. I might have seen the movie out of curiosity but f*ck that.”
Others posted memes, including one where a person asks how the “newest campaign” of kissing helps sell more Star Wars, and Pascal dressed as the “Transalorian.” Pascal stars as the bounty hunter The Mandalorian in the forthcoming film.
Mario Nawfal wrote, “Makes sense when you think about it. The movie’s from Disney, after all…”
“The Colbert Show reached its natural and logical conclusion. Making out with another dude on the air. No this is not AI,” Autism Capital wrote.
