The establishment is absolutely petrified of Reality star-turned-Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt. The thought of someone outside the appointed political class has all of the usual suspects panicking, especially big labor.  Unions throw endless cash toward Democrat politicians at every level of government to make sure they keep getting a piece of the taxpayer pie.

The full political footprint of unions (including indirect spending) is around $1.8–2.5 billion range per cycle, with nearly all of it, 90–98%) benefiting Democrats at every level of government.

When the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO decided to weigh in on the Los Angeles mayoral race, they probably thought their “LA Unions Opposed to Spencer Pratt for Mayor 2026” ad was going to have their desired effect of slamming Pratt for his positions.

Instead, it might have become one of the best pro-Pratt ads to date.

The ad begins, “Republican Spencer Pratt is the last thing Los Angeles needs for mayor.”

“Pratt opposes using taxpayer money to build brand new houses for unhoused neighbors, saying it’s time for the homeless to get help or get out.”

“Pratt thinks L.A. needs thousands more police officers rather than more social workers, and Republican Spencer Pratt thinks public employee unions should have less power, not more.”

“LA is on the right track and needs to stay the course. Vote no on Republican Spencer Pratt.”

Watch:

The consensus on the ad is that, rather than hurting Pratt, it tells voters exactly why he is the best option for LA.

“The ad makes Pratt look like a waste, fraud and abuse fighter who will use the savings to hire more cops and fully fund LAPD.”

“Everyone knows public employee unions are bleeding taxpayers dry. The union putting this ad out should stick with kissing up to Newsom.”

“This was made by a labor union. Are they that out of touch with reality that they picked three of the most blatantly 80/20 issues to highlight in an advertisement?”

“Followed by ‘LA needs to stay the course’?”

“Feels like a pro-Pratt ad because jungle primary.”

“If this doesn’t show how out of touch Dems are, then nothing will.”

“All the points it makes are the opposite of a majority of people.”

“Spencer Pratt should be the next Mayor of LA.”
