A U.S. Circuit Court judge ruled on Wednesday that Virginia’s redistricting amendment passed by 51.4 percent of voters was invalid from the start and ordered “any and all votes for or against the proposed constitutional amendment in the April 21, 2026 special election are ineffective.”
Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones said he would immediately file an appeal.
“Virginia voters have spoken, and an activist judge should not have veto power over the People’s vote,” Jones said in an X post.
